The 'manigaitor' is a quick and easy gaiter (cowl) pattern, suitable for either a man or a woman using just under 100 yards of DK or worsted weight yarn. And the best thing about it is that it is completely reversible, so no thought required when putting it on!
Materials:
95-120yds DK or worsted weight yarn, (I used Patons Zhivago because am stash busting!)
4.5mm short circular needle

Tension:
17sts and 24 rows to 4"

Finished Measurements:
6" deep by 22" in circumference (unstretched)

Instructions:

Cast on 108 stitches and join in the round being careful not to twist.

Rows 1-3: *K3, P3, repeat from * to end.
Rows 4-6: K2, *P3, K3, repeat from * to last stitch, K1.
Rows 7-9: K1, *P3, K3, repeat from * to last 2 stitches, K2.
Rows 10-12: *P3, K3, repeat from * to end.
Rows 13-15: P2, *k3, p3, repeat from * to last stitch, P1.
Rows 16-18: P1, *K3, P3, repeat from * to last 2 stitches, P2.

Repeat rows 1 - 18 once more, cast off loosely and weave in ends. To make a shorter or longer cowl continue knitting until desired length and cast off after row 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 or 18.

Shawl Number 1

I finished my Bitterroot shawl, although it did take me nearly two weeks to get round to blocking it, am a bit lazy when it comes to blocking.

It took up nearly the whole of my bed to block, I really must get some of those foam squares so I can block on the floor, would love some blocking wires too, but definitely cannot afford at the mo.

I've already started on my second shawl, which is the India Stole by Sylvie Beez, I'm nearly halfway and it looks like it's going to be super long, ah well more soggy bed blocking.
